Sequential Figure & Ground

Figure-ground is the state in which we perceive elements as either the foreground or the background. For the sake of this project, it is also related to the relationship between the use of positive and negative space. Creating a unique composition while using the Gestalt principles with just the word “Typography” and the numbers 1-10 kept options limited while designing, but when considering how one could incorporate flow, rhythm, shape, and value, the opportunities grow. When working through my main goal, I was to make a seamless flow throughout the composition while still switching the letters and numbers from black and white, utilizing figure and ground, pushing the boundaries of the goals of the assignment.
