Snowboard Graphic

One of my favorite Activites when I have free time in the winter is snowboarding, in the past ive always drawn on my boards in there negative space to add my personal touch and to identify my board, as its common to get your board stolen but this has helped prevent stolen boards having a self drawn graphic. When in my foundations class freshman year, our final was a drawing or painting on any mixed media, I had just bought this blank Nitro snowboard and had the perfect opportunity for a project that I could enjoy during and after it was done. First-hand experience has taught me that the more I ride this board and people on the mountain see my work, I can get my name and product out for possible future commissioned work, whether that be on snowboards or skies.

Process

The cartoon-style graphic depicts a mountain resort up top with a road winding down to the beach, showing what is next for the character driving the bus shown in the middle of the board. Completed with just a black and purple sharpie is a cheap and simple way to apply the graphic, and finalizing with a few coats of clear coat to protect the work will ensure a longer-lasting finish.
