U.S. City Rebrand

The US City Rebrand was a great project to experience what it is like to design with a system and to have a brand style guide that needed to be followed. With the freedom of picking any city, my choice was Cook, MN, a northern lake town often quiet in the winter but thriving in the summer, with the surrounding lakes bringing in guests and locals. Most businesses and life revolve around lake life, so when thinking about branding, involving lake aspects was key. Deciding to incorporate a fish felt right, as Cook is an old-fashioned town, not an area bringing in many surf boats or action sports, fishing is still the most popular attraction in the area. My color choices are influenced by the colors found in the surrounding nature, blue water, green trees, and red and yellow colors of fall.

A charming North Woods town where adventure and relaxation go hand in hand.

Brand Style Guide

A brand style guide is an outline for how you should design for a brand, whether visual or verbal. It ensures a brand’s consistency throughout multiple media in color, sizing, and materials.
